Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span?

Amid fears that screen time is affecting our children’s mental health and a drop in grades, Government is now suggesting that mobile phones should be banned in schools and for the first time ever they will be issuing official guidelines on how much time our children should spend in front of screens. A recent study by OffCom showed that Children aged between 12-15 years old spend an average of 20 hours a week online and 17 hours using a mobile phone. It is therefore vital as parents that we get to grips with how growing up in the digital age is affecting our children.

Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw this happening with her own kids and began a quest to uncover how it might impact their development. As with her other two award-winning documentaries on mental health, Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction.

Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find a balance world and provides practical resources to help them do it.

We are thrilled to present, a documentary about the biggest parenting issue of our time. Afterwards we will hold a short Questions and Answers session, with local experts to help us with some of the answers.

Children 10 and over are welcome to join their parents or carers. Please email katie.logan@thecentrelondon.com if you would like to bring your children.
